The Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH), with support from the Data Science Institute and the U of A DataLab is offering the Public Health & AI Summer School for graduate students, research staff, faculty, and public health professionals. The four-day summer school takes place at the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB), 1670 E. Drachman Street, Tucson, AZ 85721. Register on Eventbrite to save your seat. Why AI is a must-know for Public Health Professionals
The future of public health is digital, and AI is already reshaping how we detect, understand, and respond to health challenges. The summer school will introduce key concepts, tools, and real-world applications of AI in Public Health. Attendees will delve into essential topics such as AI and machine learning fundamentals, digital epidemiology, generative AI in public health, digital biomarkers, spatial epidemiology, scientific literature management with AI, and ethical governance of AI systems.
The workshops features interactive sessions where attendees will experiment with tools for data management, visualization, and low-to no-code AI platforms. These experiences will deepen both technical expertise and critical thinking around AI’s applications in real-world public health scenarios.
Supported by MEZCOPH, the Global Health Institute, and the Data Science Institute, this initiative positions participants at the forefront of public health innovation, ready to leverage AI for impactful health outcomes globally.
